Who else out there still has a Betamax VCR?

I have one :D , or rather "it's been in my family for 26 years, and now sits under my TV". It's a ~1985 Sony SL-HF400 SuperBeta (like Beta, but has an extra 50-75 lines of picture resolution, making recordings from cable/antenna nearly indistinguishable aside from the still lower chroma resoltion) that originally went for $800 bucks on the market (which would be $1600 nowadays  ). Amazingly, it still works great despite being in storage for 8 years, though I probably need to track down a new (dry) head-cleaner tape

I remember those. I always knew they would out live everything lol

I know DebWalsh has a few, as do other members here.
If video is your hobby, and you were doing it pre-DVD, pre-VCD, pre-Internet, it's almost impossible to avoid owning one.

Same goes for Laserdisc.

Yep, I have 4 or 5. You can still buy tapes and head cleaners for them, but service is a challenge. I have a 900, 70, and a 450, I think, and maybe another one or two. Right now, none are hooked up, and all are hidden behind a wall of cables in my entertainment unit, but I'm planning to rip the thing apart and move all the components into a separate tower so I can get them properly set up again. I hope to spend some time this summer doing some transfers from those precious Beta tapes (I recorded on Beta because the quality was so much better, for heaven's sake!). Fortunately, some of the shows I wanted to preserve have been released somewhere in the world (just got Misfits of Science on DVD from Amazon.de in Germany!), but there're a lot that have never been released, and will likely never be released.
