Just had this happen: Your Opinion

Had a car incident about a week or so ago, was about 15 feet from pulling into my driveway (could only have been doing 5mph or so) and my neighbor pulls out of his driveway and hit my right left fender with the front right bumber of his truck (he was turning left), he admitted fault and his insurance company paid for fixing my car. I called 'my' insurance company to let them know of the incident (because his insurance company would have notified them probably anyway). They took and recorded my statement and said that even though he admitted fault and that his insurance company paid for fixing my car that I might loose my safe driver discount, (bear in mind this was my first accident and I wasn't even at fault and my insurance company didn't have to pay out anything). Now does that sound right to you, I have never heard of this. I was so pissed at the adjuster for 'my' insurance company.

Insurance is a racket. A scam.
It's unjust and wrong, but not at all surprising.

Yes
Unfortunately now there is no such thing as his fault and your fault.
You should have asked him to pay cash for the fender bender, or not told your insurance about it.
too late now though, I don't think you can do anything about it, if you shop around when your policy is due you might find luck with another company.

State Farm does not do this. Believe me, my wife had two accidents (her fault) and my insurance didn't go up at all :)

Allstate would. I paid those greedy bastards for 5-6 years on insurance on my camera equipment, and after I made a two claims, they threatened to drop me. It was full coverage, no deductible.

First, I had a flash cable stolen at work. That ran $75.
Next, I had a lens destroyed when a player smashed into me at a basketball game. That ran $1100.

I paid more than $1175 for my insurance, so I do not understand what right they have to complain.

Allstate is who I have as well.

You are NOT in good hands with Allstate......
