I generally hate music videos, but every now and then, a really creative one, with great music to accompany it, surfaces. I found this link, which has some of my most favorite of all time on there.

a-ha/Take on Me (1985) ~ Love stories are a dime a dozen. Music videos are a dime a dozen. But a music video/love story between a real person and an animated one? That's creative, not to mention a visually cool spectacle.

Robert Palmer/Addicted to Love (1986)~ Another video that defined MTV in the mid 80's. Whereas most rock stars competed with each other to see who could come up with the strangest fashions, Palmer managed to look so damn classy in those suits.

Kate Bush/Cloudbusting (1985) ~ Though quite popular in her native England, Kate Bush never achieved much popularity in the states, despite being a tremendous influence on such artists as Tori Amos and Paula Cole. Cloudbusting paired a visually stunning video with a fascinating storyline about Bush's father inventing a rain-making machine called a "cloudbuster".

I love this video!

I have so many faves from the '80s, when music videos were a new art form and creativity was sometimes out of control. I used to love the MTV video world premieres.

One of my favorites was an homage to The Prisoner, and I can't remember the name of the band, but I do remember the lead singer - Claire Grogan, who went on to star in Red Dwarf as the original Kochanski.

Some of my favorites were-

I also liked this one- not really the song, i turned it down halfway through- but---
but as just a unique idea- that I never saw before- I have to give credit-

Absolutely ADORE Kate Bush. Been following her career since in started. She's STILL 20 years ahead of her time. :D

I have to add Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights video- She had a few, but I mean the one in the red dress.
I love that song especially being a fan of the book, I can't think of another song that reflects a classice piece of literature- so that song was always a favorite, added with her artistic nature and unusual voice-

I saw a pretty good one today. I was watching the first ever Saturday Night's Main Event (that used to air when Saturday Night Live would have the week off) and they played Cyndi Lauper's "The goonies r good enough." in its entirety. I was pretty shocked, as seeing music videos on regular television is exceedingly rare. The video was one of the most star-studded I've ever seen, with the cast of the Goonies and professional wrestlers in it. Then later on in the broadcast, Cyndi accompanied the woman's world champion to her title defense, and then got into a food fight with the Fabolous Moolah.

I know how much of a Goonies fan you are, so I thought I should relay the story.

I would like to add "voices carry" by Til Tuesday. I thought that had a really powerful ending.

I enjoy most of Shakira's and Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears. I always joke Shakira is the one woman that could turn me straight.
