The current design is transitional.
See the attached image -- this is the final background and upper header. Note: It looks better full size, not squashed to a small JPEG.
There's a lower header, too. And a nice footer.

One thing at a time. I hope to have the site fully completed by the end of September. :)

Awesome....I like the changes I have seen thus far...the colors are to me, much better.

I like what I am seeing so far. The colors are easy on the eyes, even on my android- easy to navigate- the images are clever, and not terribly recycled :)
