DVR
After talking to a nice customer service rep in person.
Had I frigin known this from the beginning . I would have done it sooner. I thought you needed both the cable bx & DVR . She said I can swap out the bx for the DVR instead. Dont need the bx. When I asked this on the phone . I was told a different story. Anywho, dvr will arrive tomorrow. Which ones are known for problems? Which ones works best? I know comcast has the 40 & 80 gig dvr . I m hoping its the 80 gig drive. Hell thats larger than my own pc drive [88] No more missing shows [88] |
TIVO from Direct tv is really nice, the installer told me that the Direct TV boxes didnt stand up to power surges as well though, so whichever one you choose, invest in a good surge protector.

I m getting mine through comcast ...So I dont know which one it's going to be.
I m hoping.....Once he arrives . I can ask for a certain model . I dont know? |
My co-worker hates his Comcast DVR, says it's not as flexible as Tivo and doesn't always record what he programs it to. Don't know if it's a faulty DVR or if there's really a problem.
I could not function without my DISH DVRs. I have two, and they're almost always nearly full. It's definitely changed the way I record. I purchased mine, so I was definitely able to specify which model I was getting. Thinking of upgrading this summer to an HD DVR - more importantly, a DVR that can record two channels at once! |
Just got my DVR installed today. Your friend must have the single tuner.
I got the Dual . You can record 3 shows while watching a 4 th at the same time. :) Motorola DCT6412 120 gig drive 60 hrs of record time for standard TV. Or 15 hrs for HDTV http://www.winnercomm.com/comcast/guide/DVR/ Tell your friend to swap it out for the dual turner. Which is the lasest model. He wont be disappointed . |
