CPS Operational Again

Well, after days of no service, it looks like things might, might, might be back to normal.

Bascially, the hosting provider for CPS, Digitalfaq, allaboutduncan got hosed. We had almost 4 days of no service (including email).

It looks like everything is back to normal. I'll proceed to check the uploads and other things in a bit. Please post any errors you might find here.

Before I re-started the database, it was showing the default record. Weird stuff, let me know if there is anything else wacky around.

The first outage was due to a hacker exploiting scripts and getting into the server cluster. Did some damage. Our server was luckily one of the ones least affected. From what I gather, the Linux systems were harder hit (we use Windows servers).

The second outage was because they messed up reloading the Windows IIS. Just some dumbs mistakes.

The biggest problem was their lack of creating and restoring more recent data backups. Everything was restored from Friday evening backups, both times. The backup was also incomplete, I had to manually re-enable server permissions and am still awaiting a manual component reinstall.

I had actually forwarded some of my e-mail accounts over to my yahoo backups (this is a prime reason I use system aliasing for e-mail addresses and basically never give out box addresses). So I was less affected by the e-mail issue.

Hopefully we're fixed now and can be left alone to use it.
