Which is better to learn?
I am trying to learn some programming to help me land a job and make me more marketable to companies. So, I was wondering which of the two programming languages would i be better off learning?
.NET or Java (J2EE) I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering and a MCP, MCSA, MCDBA and MCSE (all Server 2003 platform) certificates and I still can't find a job. :( |
I'm learning .NET right now...never did anything with the other so can't say much for it. .NET seems pretty simple...by simple I don't mean piece of cake lol....just not as hard as I thought.

ASP.NET is probably closer to the MCSE stuff.
Do you know databases? All that lovely MSSQL stuff? |
I know enough of SQL to get by.

If you want to learn a new technology right now, I would definitely look into Ruby on Rails. It's the big up and coming tech. Very easy to program in from what I hear and it's compatible with a lot of other formats.

If comparing .NET to JAVA, the answer is simple, .NET That is where most companies are going right now at least.

ok guys. I'm gonna learn .NET (don't know which platform to begin with C#.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, etc.)
Does anyone recommend any good books to help me? |
