God!!! I love My Bourbon!!!

Not the cheap stuff either! KNobb Creek, Bulleit! Screw Makers Mark!xx(][xx(][|)][|)][88][88]

lordsmurf 05-26-2007 02:31 AM

I never really liked bourbon. It was like watered-down whiskey.

MagnificentMarcus 05-26-2007 05:52 AM

I DON"T THINK SO-LS!!!

Bourbon in most cases has a higher alcohol content than Whiskey. I will admit that Bourbon tends to be a little smoother in taste, but no way could you say it taste like watered-down whiskey. Of course, if you live in Tennessee I could understand why you be would so misguided!(Jack Daniels HQ)[:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][}:)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][:x)][88][88]:D[8D]:)

Personally, I think I like it a little too much!!

jowins 05-26-2007 10:40 PM

I don't believe I have ever tried bourbon and probably won't, LOL. [:x)] I don't care for the hard stuff ever since I passed the age of 20, LMAO, but I will do a shot once in a while if it is handed to me. [88] Yes I know, hard to believe. [8D] I do love my beer though and will stick with it.....it has done me good so far and I'm quite sure it won't let me down. :D[88]:D[88]:D[88]:D[88]

I just want to know if you posted this while having your bourbon? [88] I love to see the occasional drunken thread now and again. :D[88]:D[88]

MagnificentMarcus 05-27-2007 01:05 AM

Well Jowins, this thread was for you! Yes, I was drinking my favorite bourbon at the time-Bulleit. No, it was not my first glass. Yes, I did have to edit my original comments.

I really should just lock myself in a room when I start drinking.

Padre2 05-27-2007 01:18 AM

Marcus, you keep that up and you could be Lindsay Lohan's drinking buddy! lol!

MagnificentMarcus 05-27-2007 06:18 AM

The problem with bourbon is that it can sneak up on you. The better the quality, usually the smoother the taste and higher alcohol content. Knob Creek ($33.00 a fifth) which I like is 100%, Bulleit is 96%, Markers Mark is only 80%, (divide by 2 the actual alcohol content by volume).

I started drinking bourbon, because it doesn't leave you with the bad hangover (headache) as beer, whiskey, vodka, gin, etc.- less impurities or may be I've finally killed off all the pain receptors in my brain. A hangover is actually produced by a restricting of the blood vessels to the brain.

Unfortunately there has been a time or two when the Superman Syndrome or as some call it the Homer Simpson phenomenon happens and you wish all you had was a hangover from the night before.

SavageAmusement 05-27-2007 12:50 PM

I like Bourbon Chicken does that count?

Most high count alcohols are too much for me.
I stick with the mixed drinks- Longisland ice tea, screwdrivers, fuzzy navels-

girly stuff I suppose.

MagnificentMarcus 05-27-2007 02:47 PM

Long Island Teas can hurt you pretty bad if your not careful. Texas Long Island Teas can hurt you "REAL" bad! How do I know??? Take my word for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!:([8][B)][V][:x)][:x)][:x)][8D]:D

lordsmurf 05-27-2007 03:26 PM

Long Islands Teas are the reason I have no recollection of some nights back in college. Oops.

MagnificentMarcus 05-27-2007 03:57 PM

Texas Long Island have eight shots in them, but they go down so easy! I had five of them one night in a place called Belle Star in Fort Worth/Dallas. That is the last thing I remember, the next day I was in New York, NY!

LMAO! [88][88] Well, it was a holiday weekend filled with a whole lot of alcohol being passed around, so I am finally able to check back here to see who else may have decided to come out over the last few days, lol. Not too many. [:x)]

I drink too much, my husband drinks too much, my friends drink too much....who cares....the important thing is that we have a heck of a lot of fun doing it with each other (too much actually)!!!!!!! [88]:D[88]:D[88]:D[88]:D

BTW, I am drinking a beer (or 3) as I type this. [:x)]

The only problem I can see with the hard stuff is that you can't drink it for 12 hours straight like you can beer, LMAO. [88] I would never make it thru a night out, LOL. [:x)]

MagnificentMarcus 05-29-2007 11:13 AM

Well, it helps keep the weight off. A third a bottle of bourbon has about the same amount of calories as a six pack of beer. Plus, about a third of a bottle (fifth) usually has me talking out of my a-- and leaving stupid posts.

I'm snoring, while your still drinking. Although I agree with LS about the effects of LOng Island Teas, over all more alcohol and sugar than any drink out there.

SavageAmusement 05-29-2007 11:42 AM

Well I never had more than one, my stomach starts to hurt after a drink or two.

but I will say this, I am totally addicted to Midori Sours-

something about "melon" and alcohol that is really enjoyable.

I guess for me, if it tastes like alcohol I probably won't like it-
Then again, when I was 21 I popped back about 11 shots of shnapps on that theory and missed my midterm, and I never did get that security deposit back

Savage who has said too much..but looks dang cute in the pictures with a lampshade.

MagnificentMarcus 05-29-2007 01:59 PM

What picture??? Kim, your such a lightweight! So is the beer-drinking Canadian-Hay!

Have you ever tried Watermelon Puckers? OMG, it is delicious if you like that sort of thing. ;) It tasted just like a watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. :D Another one is a Washington Apple....I had my first one last week when I went out and ran into some girls I went to school with and they wanted me to do a shot with them. :D[88]

And I'm with Marcus, where's that picture? [8D]:D Come on, you have to show us now. :D[88]
