What's your favorite....type of take out

When you eat out, or cook something special, order in- Whats your favorite?

With all the varieties, Thai, Chinese, Italian, Greek-

There are so many choices out here, whenever I get the chance I go to this seafood place- has the best crab legs- just something only affordable once in awhile and I never could cook it the same as a professional place. My other big choice is a Thai place over here, another genre I just never could recreate-

So what about you guys..when people splurge to eat out it is usually to get something they can't make at home- or a rare treat.

Just an odd thought this morning (shrug)

Well,

(A) Mexican .... real queso, black beans, tamales, enchiladas, salsa, etc ... but I'm no longer in Texas, so nothing here is good. Fajitas are not Mexican food you Tennessee hicks. Fajitas are a straight Texan invention, from beef ranches.

(B) Greek .... but there's nowhere near me anymore. Love those gyro plates, made with lamb and beef, full of non-lettuce salad veggies.

(C) Barbecue .... REAL BEEF BARBECUE .... Tennessee does not seem to have any cows, so no BBQ for me, unless I make it at home. All they have here is pulled pork, chicken and sausages. Ladies and gents, just because you dump barbecue sauce on something DOES NOT mean it's barbecue. My freezer is full of "imported" Texas briskets.

(D) Chinese .... this is the only one I can get nearby. They have crab legs and all kinds of seafood on Friday and Saturday night. I go here about once a month. I go another time during the month for lunch, but no crab, and less seafood. Strangely enough, this place makes one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, with the veggies/toppings under the cheese, and almost zero pasta sauce.

This might explain why I eat in more often. Well, that and it's cheaper!

Chinese food hands down. Though not quick and sloppy chinese food, there is a difference between oily "fast" chinese food and real quality chinese.

We also love this Greek woman who owns a small shop where she makes gyros and chicken pitas, its not really the meat thats killer its the sides and fresh vegetable mixes she has. I think we load more of the sides into the pita than actual meat.

I have to say it seems Oriental wins hands down- and seafood takes second to that- I asked everyone at my work.

I have tried to make both at home- and ....it just never comes out right.

Although, I will say this- if you go to GFS (gordon food services) you can get several "resteraunt" sauces.
Such as the KFC honey barbeque wing sauce.
So maybe some of those tricks of the trades help too.

I just tried out the new Chinese place in town. Pretty good. I like the pot stickers and fried dumplings. Fried shrimp and those cheese-stuffed chip things are another favorite.
