Steve Gerber 1947 - 2008
Writer Steve Gerber passed away on February 10, 2008, due to complications from his condition of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 60 years old. Gerber was one of Marvel Comics' most prolific writers in the 1970's, writing The Defenders and Man-Thing and creating Howard the Duck and Omega the Unknown. By the 1980's, Gerber had transitioned to television, where he created Thundarr the Barbarian and wrote for animated shows like Dungeons and Dragons, Transformers, and G.I. Joe.
