Pet Peeve: when Sellers Incorrectly List Items As Like New

Don't you just hate that? I just got something with tons of fuzz and cuts on the cardboard cover and really don't see what the problem is when it comes to people not understanding that like new = new condition without the shrinkwrap.

That's one reason eBay banned the term "like new" 5+ years ago -- and without really telling anybody (eBay has always had a bad habit of making up the rules as they go). I had a camera in like-new condition, and the auction was pulled as a violation of eBay policy. This was before eBay created preset condition categories that you find now.

I'm surprised Amazon hasn't banned it also. It's obviously abused. The same thing has happened to me, when buying Doctor Who books used. Covers were scratches, spines cracked, spines separated from the pages, etc -- yet some goober thought that was "like new". In a pig's eye!

I tend to only buy from sellers who have taken time to fully describe condition, not just check the condition box.
