The 67th Annual Golden Globe Award Nominations Motion Picture Fact Sheet

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama
Emily Blunt – Received Best Supporting Actress (Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made-for-Television) for Gideon’s Daughter and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for The Devil Wears Prada.

Sandra Bullock – Received two nominations: for Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) for Miss Congeniality and While You Were Sleeping.

Helen Mirren – Received three Golden Globes: a Best Actress Golden Globe (Drama) for The Queen and Best Actress (Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made-for-Television) for Elizabeth I and Losing Chase. She’s received six additional nominations: a Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) nomination for Calendar Girls, Best Supporting Actress for Gosford Park and Best Actress (Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made-for-Television) for Prime Suspect 7: The Final Act, The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, Door to Door and The Passion of Ayn Rand.

Carey Mulligan – This is her first nomination

Gabourey Sidibe – This is her first nomination


Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama
Jeff Bridges – Received three nominations: for Best Supporting Actor for The Contender, Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) for The Fisher King and Best Actor (Drama) for Starman.

George Clooney - Received two Golden Globes: for Best Supporting Actor for Syriana and Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) for O Brother, Where Art Thou?. He has received six additional nominations; Best Actor (Drama) for Michael Clayton, Best Screenplay for Good Night and Good Luck, Best Director for Good Night and Good Luck, and three for Best Actor in a Television Series (Drama) for ER.

Colin Firth – This is his first nomination.

Morgan Freeman – Received the Golden Globe as Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) for Driving Miss Daisy. He has received three additional nominations: Best Supporting Actor for Million Dollar Baby and Street Smart, and Best Actor (Drama) for The Shawshank Redemption.

Tobey Maguire – This is his first nomination.


Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

Meryl Streep – The most nominated actor or actress in Golden Globes history, she received six Golden Globes; one as Best Actress (Comedy/Musical) for The Devil Wears Prada, two as Best Actress (Drama) for The French Lieutenant’s Woman and Sophie’s Choice, two as Best Supporting Actress for Adaptation and Kramer Vs. Kramer, and one as Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for Angels in America. Matt Damon – Received a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay for Good Will Hunting. He has been nominated two additional times as Best Actor (Drama) for The Talented Mr. Ripley and Good Will Hunting.

Daniel Day-Lewis – Received a Golden Globe as Best Actor (Drama) for There Will Be Blood. He has been nominated four additional times in the Best Actor (Drama) category for Gangs of New York, The Boxer, In the Name of the Father, and My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown.

Robert Downey Jr. – Received two Golden Globes: Best Supporting Actor (Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television) for Ally McBeal and shared a special Best Ensemble Cast Golden Globe for Short Cuts. He has received two additional nominations: Best Supporting Actor for Tropic Thunder and Best Actor (Drama) for Chaplin.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt – This is his first nomination.

Michael Stuhlbarg – This is his first nominations.


Best Supporting Actress
Penelope Cruz – Received two nominations: for Best Supporting Actress for Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Best Actress for Volver.

Vera Farmiga – This is her first nomination.

Kathryn Bigelow – This is her first nomination.

James Cameron – Received Golden Globes for Best Picture (Drama) and Best Director for Titanic, as well as a nomination for Best Screenplay.

Clint Eastwood - received three Golden Globes as Best Director for Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven and Bird. He received the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1988. He also received 8 additional nominations: three Best Director nominations for Flags of Our Fathers, Letters From Iwo Jima, and Mystic River, three Best Original Score nominations for Changeling, Grace is Gone and Million Dollar Baby, and two Best Original Song nominations for Gran Torino and Grace is Gone.

Jason Reitman – This is his first nomination.

Quentin Tarantino – Received a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay for Pulp Fiction, for which he also received a nomination as Best Director.
