Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection (Germany Amazon Exclusive Edition)

Harry Potter Steelbooks Collection (Canada Future Shop Exclusive with Shelf)

So, which one is the best bang for the buck? Or should i wait and get all the Ultimate Editions separately?

I bought the inexpensive UK version for less than $50 USD. You get what you pay for: ALL the MOVIES and some EXTRAS to go with your region-free blu-rays.

Forget the upcoming $500 freaks. If you want to spend $500 on a wand, buy a real prop wand or just buy a wand. How these companies bundle junk with discs is getting absurd especially given the size and cost of some.

There is also no guarantee that any "ultimate" edition will have an extended version of the movie and my guess is that they really won't do it anymore, so you can stop holding out for those unless you feel like it.

Also, for some reason, I think the Potter extras are the most worthless and boring extras that I have ever seen or heard. Listening to oodle vanoodle talk about her carrot earrings was dreadful!!! So, for me, having 10+ discs of extras is a waste of space and money not to mention time.

The best advice anyone can give you, though, is for you to buy whatever you want.

Yeah, after some more researching the last day...i broke down and bought the Australian set. It comes with that same UK packaging, but less disks. All blu rays are region free also (Years 1-5 = 5 BDs, Years 6-8 = 6 BDs 3 movies, 3 special features). Not only that the first two movies are the extended versions which are available in the Ultimate disc releases.

That's good enough for me, plus it was a really decent price $125 AUD.

Thanks ndbs9u3 for your thoughts, plus they are really spot on. That $500 set is a crazy amount to pay for anything and seems like a rip off if you ask me.
