Am I nuts or is this the worst summer ever?
granted, im pregnant--and that doesn't help -but this heat is non stop unrelenting...
my sons crab pool works for about 5 minutes and we have to dump the water before it begins to boil.
The ac, on "peak' and High, get it to about 82.

OMG I am so ready for winter, a cold, snowy, icy, winter.

It's hot, yes. Very, very, very hot.

I have the AC set to 76, but it never gets below 78 or 79. It only stops when it needs to protect itself from seizing up. If I set it to 78 or 79, it never gets below 80 or 81. At home, in addition to thick blinds and curtains, I've added thick cardboard with thermal backing into most windows, to block as much cooling loss as possible. It does help. Though without daylight, it's easy to lose track of time!

I was outside doing yard work yesterday morning, and I felt miserable after being outside for 3 hours. The first 2 were fine, but that last hour the temp went from about 80 to about 95. It felt like I was burned over my entire body, including the skin under my clothes, but I wasn't even pink.

With climate change ("global warming") what it is now, your wish for truckloads of snow is likely. The issue is not "warming" as much as it's extreme weather conditions -- be it heat, cold, precipitation, etc.

On the up side, more people are indoors this year, and website traffic is up.

And I finally figured out how to network my computer to my Blu-ray player. No more copying to thumb drives!

.... though I won't discount the fact that you may still be nuts.

Yes this year (and today) has been mostly disgusting so far, though last year (especially in August) was really brutal (because it was just rain and humidity almost everyday). I'll just say it now-- I hate the god damn summer

Mine was about $250, which is double-high, but I only go 76 at lowest, more often at 77-78.
It rained here a lot this month, so everything greened back up.

UK has had weird weather as well.

a few months back most/all water companies imposed a hose pipe ban as water levels were low.

what happened next?
we've had about 2 months of rain, rain, rain and yet more rain!

the temperatures have dipped a bit as well.
rather than being in the 20s, there have been a few days when it dropped to early teens.
ok, not icily cold, but nippy enough to warrant wearing an extra layer.

things are meant to improve over the next month - warmer & drier.

personally i don't mind the rain - its the cold i don't like.
UK gets cold & damp - not good for old bones.
need to get to hot & sunny places in retirement.

where's the best spot?
where is it always in the 20s & sunny?
