I wonder how good these are? I have a "remastered" two-disc DVD set that I bought about 10 years ago.
It is quite good.

apparently there are aspect ratio issues:



LHS: original AR
RHS: remastered dvd/blu-ray with wrong AR

some of the original cartoons used Movietone aspect ratio 1.2:1.

for this essential collection, it seems some of the cartoons have been stretched to fit a tv screen with aspect ratio 1.33:1.

so, these sets are mixed blessings.
on the one hand, we have "remastered in HD from 4k scans."
on the other hand, we have wrong AR.

not sure whether this was done deliberately or by accident.
either way, it sucks a bit.
