Product Description
THE IT CROWD: INTERNET IS COMING - DVD - Having learnt from Douglas that the secret of his success is wearing women's slacks Moss buys a pair, which makes him brave and creative. Roy is annoyed that tiny barista Troy is making his coffee too milky and they argue, after which Troy falls in front of a van. At the same time Jen accidentally throws coffee over a vagrant, both incidents being captured on camera and posted on the Internet, turning Jen and Roy into global hate figures. Roy also accompanies girlfriend Alice to her grandfather's funeral but overdoes the pepper spray to simulate tears of grief, which, added to his Internet notoriety, is enough for her to dump him. Douglas attempts damage limitation by going on TV's 'The Secret Millionaire' but blows his cover so Moss devises a plan to market the pepper spray and turn his colleagues into heroes. However it backfires and the IT crowd have to clear their desks.

My husband and I have watched each of the first four series many times but remained unaware that there was a wrap-up show. When I found it on Amazon recently, I purchased it immediately.
While the show does an excellent job of wrapping up the series, it is really bittersweet as I still want to know more about Moss (Richard Ayoade), Roy (Chris O'Dowd), Jen (Katherine Parkinson), and, yes, even Douglas (Matt Berry).
The show has the same funny situations you expect from this series. I loved the way Roy questioned, at one point, if it didn't seem that odd things kept happening to the group of them.
In watching the extra feature information, I also found out that none of the actors really had any expertise (at least at the time of filming) with IT. It really points to what great actors they all are. I worked at a large computer company for almost twenty years and I ran into their emotional and intellectual doppelgangers many times. I even married a man who speaks and acts more like Moss than he likes to think about.
So, loved the show, hated to say goodbye, but will watch the, now complete, series over and over again in the future.
There's some good additional interviews with the creator/writer/director Graham Linehan, actors Chris O'Dowd (Roy), Richard Ayoade (Moss) and Katherine Parkinson (Jen).
The IT Crowd is good fun and it's obvious the actors enjoyed working on it. It's definitely one of my favorites and I've brought this series to the attention of anyone I know who works in IT and other computer programmers.
Nonetheless. It's worth getting if you are a big fan
In this particular episode:
*After Jen (Katherine Parkinson) and Roy (Chris O'Dowd) pan his Internet review show, Moss (Richard Ayoade) has a crisis of confidence. But then Douglas (Matt Berry) reveals his shocking secret for being more confident, and Moss suddenly has the cojones to do whatever he wants.
*Roy's new girlfriend -- who thinks he's on the autism spectrum -- wants him to come to her grandfather's funeral, so he feels pressure to cry.
*Douglas goes on "Secret Millionaire," but ends up getting in trouble wth the police.
*A viral video catches Jen accidentally throwing coffee on a homeless woman, and Roy berating a tiny barista who is then hit by a truck with breasts on it. To make matters worse, Jen tries to defend herself on social media, but only attracts the attention of Anonymous.
For the most part, "The Internet is Coming" is basically just a double-length episode of the series, with the sort of wild social awkwardness and problematic situations that you'd expect. But after the halfway mark, this finale does get that "final episode" flavor, with Douglas stating his intention to fire the IT staff when he returns from his outing, and Roy even noting that the last four seasons have contained some rather bizarre occurrences. Hello, fourth wall. I must break you.
But along the way, we have the kind of delightful social awkwardness and self-complicating disasters that the show is known for (Roy's attempts to woo back his girlfriend coincides with a disastrous project meeting), as well as some fun stuff that fans will want to see one more time before the end (the newly-regothed Richmond, the "Internet" box that Jen still thinks is a real thing). In fact, it's initially written as if it were one of the usual episodes, but slightly fleshed-out and given a proper wrap-up rather than just leaving the characters sunk in the quicksand of their own bad luck.
Downside? Well, the whole subplot about Jen being attracted to the Spanish barista... kind of goes nowhere. It's treated as if it will be significant at first, but he simply fades out after the viral video comes up, which is a little odd since Jen's romantic relationships usually provide plenty of comic fodder.
And the well-oiled machine of the cast works, each revolving around a different kind of cluelessness. O'Dowd and Ayoade are typically delightful as the perpetually awkward nerds, one of whom discovers he's a wee bit insensitive to others (no, really?!) and the other of whom suddenly gains great confidence. Parkinson (who looks a bit odd here) is also quite good as a woman who doesn't realize that in a way, she's just as bizarre and out-of-touch as her nerd compatriots, while Berry revels in his role as the debauched millionaire who doesn't even try to censor himself ("Ah, so it's women you hate! Well, that I can understand").
"The It Crowd Version 5.0: The Internet Is Coming" has a few things that are left in the ether, but overall it's a satisfying finale to a thoroughly entertaining TV show. Just remember: The Internet is coming, and it's not a little black box.
I absolutely loved it 😂👍🏻😘
I will miss turning them on and back off again👋

This is the last series and it certainly keeps up the high speed humour.
For those unfamiliar, this is set in the dingy basement of a huge company building. The IT department consists of a slob (Roy), an autistic genius (Moss) and a wannabe go-getter with dreams of promotion (Jen).
The writing is fantastic, the acting brilliant - particularly that of Richard Ayoade (Moss) who even gets onto Countdown in my favourite episode from this series. He can make you laugh out loud even without speaking.
If you love Father Ted and British sitcoms in general, you need to see this without question. Take my advice though, and watch all four series in order and also see Noel Fielding as you've never seen him before!
Buy this and you won't regret it!
