Great for Sci fi binging.
When I bought the TV series on Amazon three years ago, I noticed many people were upset that the series ended without a definitive conclusion; some were even angry. But that was necessary, in my opinion, to be a prophetic snapshot of this new era. On the other hand, many Christians were offended that someone could symbolically represent end-time events through a TV series. I found the series a profound imaginative examination of how God could transform this world through his followers that he would gift to do extraordinary things. It just so happens that we are sitting at the threshold of this end times era that I believe the TV series deals with, including the government injecting people with something without telling them. Our current-day prophets, such as Julie Green (Rumble) have given us many words about God moving in unprecedented ways in this new era, and His people will get to do many great things never seen before. I can't wait to get to do my part.

In my opinion, the second and fourth seasons were the strongest, followed by the first season (which was only a mini-series) and then the third season, which was my least favorite. With this set, every season is included and I suggest you watch them all in order because each episode builds on the last.
Although some of the plot lines in the third season were not my favorite, it was still much stronger than many other shows out there. The 4400 may be rooted in science-fiction, but it's so much deeper and more character oriented.
If you haven't seen this series, or are just hearing about it, please give it a try and buy this set. I promise you it will not disappoint. Some of the reviews say that the finale is a let down because it ends with a cliff-hanger. While that may be true in part, the series finale was actually one of the most exciting and interesting episodes of the whole series and really summed things up nicely, while still leaving questions open to the imagination.
If you already have the seasons on DVD and are wondering about getting this for the extras, it's really up to you. The only disappointment is that the discs are exactly the same as the ones from the previous sets. There is nothing altered about them- the menus, and even disc graphics have not changed at all. It's in a nice box and the bonus disc has some nice extras, but it comes down to if the extras are worth the price of the whole series. While different disc graphics and menus would have been nice, I cannot take off a 1/2 a star because the series itself is far too good. Give it a try!

The story is mesmerizing and believable. This comes from a stand point of someone who has enjoyed reading and watching science fiction for well over 50 years.
This series gets a little soap-opera-y, at times, but what series doesn't? The only part I wish they could have spent more time on was who the entities really were that abducted these people and what really happened in the future to make time travel possible. That's what I wanted to know. I wanted a little more science fiction: They gave me a little more character development. I can't complain.
Because the series ended abruptly, way too much was stuffed into the last episode. That's okay. More ideas for the next great sci-fi saga.
Exactly 4400 (alien) abductees were returned to the present time all at once and in one place. People of different times and races all have to face the present in a new and changed earth (for most). Then they start to manifest abilities that are not (so-called) normal. And people get scared. The politics and the economics of this event is well presented. The solution is viable. But things start to (or continually) go wrong. People have to pick sides. No one knows who to trust. Logistics of daily living are compromised. An excellent and well thought out series.
We follow the story lines of some main characters throughout the series, yet the stories are always new and fresh because we get to experience the stories of other abductees via the government people investigating odd occurrences.
This is one series (of many) that was abducted in its prime probably never to return.
