Too Much TV on DVD

Just started my latest class (working on my Master's Degree) and it's feature writing. I've got to write three articles in the next 8-weeks and they must include 3 interview sources. I'm trying to pick my topics and plan out a schedule and I think I'll write one on the amount of TV on DVD that's being release, specifically relating to the bad sets (Thundercats, Cosby) that are getting released.

So (finally getting to the point), what are some sources I could use (print, internet, interview)? I know TVShowsonDVD.com has some stuff but what else can I use. Any ideas?

There are quite a few newspaper articles about the phenom of TV on DVD and its sales. I will see if I can dig them up, USA Today and Wall St Journal were 2 I know had articles

Also there has been a lot of editorials and commentaries in the papers about TIVO and people recording their own TV Shows using DVD Recorders and TIVO type DVR technology, maybe you could tie the 2 together

But definitly email Gord Lacey (I used the contact Gord feature on tvshowsondvd.com website) and ask him if you could interview him, he has always talked to me and others with no problem when we had questions and concerns about things so I dont think he would say no to an inteview request especially for educational purposes like this

You should check out the Home Theatre Forum:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...s=&forumid=103

It's a forum focussed specifically on region 1 TV on DVD. A number of studios either participate, or check out the posts, so it can be more than just a conversation pit. You'll find discussions on specific releases, often with links to web sites where differences are noted, reviews are posted, etc.

Deb, your right. I have been a member at HTF since 1999 and it has been an invaluable source of information. You should easily be able to find some of the info you are looking for Phillip.

I think if you need to make it at least a 30 - 40 page paper, you should do a live interview with RareTVonDVD!

Neruo, that is just wrong :) (However, I wish I would have said that!)

And that's just asking him for his name and occupation.
Better hire a stenographer for the rest of it.

Hey, wouldn't Philip want his instructor to actually *read* the article?
