Which Star Trek TOS set do you have?

Just wondering, I picked up the new release of all 3 seasons at Best Buy a while back when they had their deals where if you buy all you get so much $$$ off, and just got down to watching them.

I was not alive when they originally aired and my frame of reference usually starts with TNG which to this day I will still say is the best of all the series, so far its been interesting, the stories are good but the effects dont hold up too well [88]

But I noticed there are 2 sets, a 40 some disc Time Life set and a 22-23 DVD set that just came out

Just found it curious to see what the Trekkies here had

I don't know about "Time Life" being involved, but I do have the 40-disc set that was available in DVD stores like Suncoast, as well as for rent off Netflix. It's a Paramount release, just super bloated, much like the first release of I Love Lucy S1.

The transfer job on the 40-disc set looks/sounds great to me. It's an older set all on DVD5 with superbit bitrates, so only two episodes per DVD.

Yeah, I have the 40 disc set myself. Started purchasing them as soon as they started getting released back in the day.

We Trekkers didn't wait around for the recent set. We were buying them up when the 40 dvd set came out. The 40 DVD set is great quality.
Back in the late 70's, my wife (who at the time was my fiancee) used to call me in college (in North Carolina) from her home in Delaware. She knew not to call between 6 and 7 pm... That's when they were airing rebroadcasts of ST TOS. I'm old enough to have great memories (and a few nightmares) of the original broadcast in the 60's.
Star Trek, Batman, Green Hornet, Mission Impossible, Man from UNCLE, so many more... the 60's were a great time for TV!
