SCIFI- Stargate: Universe October 2nd

A band of soldiers, scientists and civilians are forced through a stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, The Destiny, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth. Faced with meeting the most basic needs of food, water and air, the group must unlock the secrets of the ship's stargate to survive. The danger, adventure and hope they find on board Destiny will reveal the heroes and villains among them.

Stargate Universe will debut as a two-hour movie event on Syfy and will be distributed by MGM Worldwide Television Distribution. Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, will serve as executive producers and writers on the new series.

I'm honestly not sure if I'm looking forward to this. Still bitter about Atlantis (SG-1 being canceled, I'm okay with -- two movies fixed it!)

Lou Diamond Phillips is enough of a turn off for me. His acting is so subpar, Wolf Lake for example.

lol yea I noticed he was in this Lou Diamond Phillips lol

Yeah, but so is Robert Carlyle. And I really get a kick out of David Blue.

FYI, apparently the first SGA movie is supposed to start filming in November. I still don't understand why that series was cancelled. 10 years of SG1 I can accept, but why axe SGA after only 5 seasons, especially where it was still doing well?

Anyone plan to record this as I dont have the means and I pretty much have most of the Stargate Related DVDs as is?

I'm recording SGU.

It's a good show. It seems darker than the other Stargate series'. The feel of the show reminds me of Battlestar Galactica. SG1 and SGA are better but SGU is still good.
