GI Joe - which set to get?

ok, i have a question about the GI Joe sets.

i have seen:

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Season 1.1
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Season 1.2
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Season 1.3

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Season 2

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Complete Collectors Set

G.I. Joe Season 1, Part 1
G.I. Joe Season 1 Vol 1 Box Set

G.I. Joe Countdown for Zartan

G.I. Joe The Movie
G.I. Joe a Real American Hero, Spy Troops the Movie

G.I. Joe Sigma 6 - Ninja Showdown
G.I. Joe Sigma 6 - First Strike

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero!/The Revenge of Cobra

G.I. Joe Resolute

(and others!)

ok, so which is the original series?

which set presents the original series in its entirety?
i.e. no cuts, alterations etc.

which set follows which?

can any be skipped?

any of them a standalone series?

i do have the rhino 11 disc set, which is a partial set and apparently has some alterations compared to original airings.

so, before i dive into those, please set me straight.

many thanks.

This is the best set to get -

It has a space in the box for the movie as well.

it would be better if Shout sold the film with no case at all via mail order. Otherwise sure we can put the film in the collectors box, but that still leaves us with another empty case

Or, you can get the Blu-Ray (which includes a DVD). Keep the disc you want and sell the other - with the case. :)

Would this be in reference to you owning the bluray, if so I am interested in that dvd part you might not want

Sorry, but that's what I already did.
