Has any one heard anything about a new Thundercat show comming out in 2011 on Cartoon Network? I just seen a clip on youtube with a guy talking about it. It's only about a minute long.

I've read about it, heard about -- but seen nothing to date.
And that's never good news.

i like how they have lion-o looking younger than the other characters. well at least that is the way he looks to me which is just my opinion. did he have a rapid aging process in the first few episodes of the original show?

If I were not picky: It's great.
If I were critical: It's really slow-paced so far.

I didn't know why the stop airing new episodes. Does anyone know when the series will continue to air again?

Most networks shows (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, CW) are on hiatus during December and January.

Cable networks (TNT, FX, Syfy, HBO, etc) actually invented the summer and winter seasons a few years ago. So right now, most of the new episodes of shows are burn-offs from major networks (playing remaining episodes of canceled series), and about 10 new episodes for cable. TNT has new episodes of The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles this month and next.

Cartoon Network still follows the traditional fall/spring setup.

What do you think of the new ep's so far?

lordsmurf 04-04-2012 03:55 PM

The show is slow. I wouldn't have liked it in the 1980s. :(

I think I mostly watch it due to nostalgia, and because it's one of the least-worst shows on Cartoon Network. If it was all-original characters, I'd have probably tuned out several episodes ago, and not looked back. It's really got a B-grade anime feel to it.

- How does Cheetarah manage to run with boobs the size of bowling balls?
- Am I the only one that thinks the new Panthro is more like Stretch Armstrong or Plasticman than Panthro?
- It's funny how Lion-O is now the whiny/annoying one; I'd rather hear "Snarf, Snarf" every 5 minutes.

Shows this slow never end well. I hope it gets a 2nd season, but it had better pick up the pace. This is the longest origin story ever. It's like watching Stargate Universe, Journeyman or Flash Forward -- all of which just started to get interesting after 20 episodes, but got axed before moving further. (40 in the case of SGU.)

As a fan of Thundercats in the 80's, this show is far superior to it in almost every way. The arc of the show is genius compared to the thoughtless lack of story arc in the original. It has quite a few dark elements mixed in with some lighter elements giving the show a good balance. I'd have to say the best part of the show is that Snarf doesn't talk......god he was annoying. They made Panthro a jacked up badass, definitely cool. Lion-O is a bit of a ***** at times as is Tigra but it sure beats listening to the stale dialogue of the original characters trying to teach a lesson with EVERY speech and heaing "Thunder Thunder Thunder Thundercats HO!" in order to wake up the sword and call for help got VERY old. Cheetara and the kittens haven't changed a whole lot which doesn't bother me too much seeing as how I find them pretty minor in the stories anyway. I love the dark nature of the villains, from what we've seen of them anyway. And some of the newly introduced creatures that have been discovered gave some comedic value and excitement to the show. Overall, I'd say this is the best adaption of any 80s show that has come out thus far (especially comparing to most of the crap that Transformers and Turtles have spewed out). Its not often that I enjoy a remake but the writers of Thundercats are sure on the money with this one.
