KONG: The Animated Series

Evidently, there was a King Kong cartoon produced in or around 2000 similar in tone to the last Godzilla cartoon.

ToonDisney and ABC Family have picked up the rights for Kong: the Animated Series and will add it to their schedule this fall. They also plan to show the animated film Kong: King of Atlantis.

After doing some searching, TV Tome has this series listed as 40 episodes.

Here is the story synopsis:

"Kong", The Animated Series brings new dimension and mega powers to the legendary giant. . . "Kong", king of all apes! We all know the original "Kong" was tragically shot down many years ago. The woman weeping at his side was actually a brilliant young scientist and pioneer of genetic research. Using Kong's DNA and a small amount of human DNA taken from her grandson, Jason Jenkins, a new "Kong" was born.
Now, years later, "Kong" and his prehistoric island are once again in danger. When "Kong" gets in over his mighty head, facing gigantic prehistoric creatures and DNA mutants, Jason is there to help. By logging onto the Internet, Jason can engage his unique cyber-link and merge with "Kong"!

An action adventure series for children 6 to 12 years old
Cyber-power meets the King Kong legend!
Includes a 72 minutes animated feature

Toon Disney should. There are 2 episodes airing back to back tonight on it according to yahooTv.

I just caught the ending of the 8pm episode and it had full end credits with no voice-overs

The only Toon Disney shows that have cropped endings ala Kids WB is the JETIX block and then usually if its a re-run, much like CN most JETIX 1st run episodes have full end credits

Also Toon Disney often runs better and longer intros, the original WITCH intro they ran is actually longer (talking about how they must win then segways into the music)

Just finished editing the "pilot" episode 2-parter. Its not bad..kinda like the Godzilla animated series. It has potential to be an OK show.

tekken1701 10-03-2005 12:27 PM

I will be.

allaboutduncan 10-03-2005 11:12 PM

Me too. But who knows how long it will take. They're showing 1 episode a week.

tekken1701 10-09-2005 01:08 PM

This is going to be a REALLY SLOW process since there are supposedly 40 episodes!

I recorded some of these back when fox aired them a few years back. I was rather disappointed with the show itself.
