Heard the news while watching the local news! Any bets it's drugs??

Anyway, looks like the latest Batman movie might have been his last piece of work. Hope it was good!

daaamn i guess he took the role to serious.

According to the New York City Police Department, Ledger was found dead in his apartment in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan on January 22, 2008.[20][21]

Sewell Chan of The New York Times writes:

“ "At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with pills scattered around his body. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play. "[1]

Did he actually film the role, or was filming set to start? One of the articles I read it sounded like he hadn't done the role yet.

Dang, I love his work. I haven't kept up with some of his more recent films, but at one time, I tracked down a number of his early performances from Australia back in the early post-Roar days.

Only 28, and already he's part of entertainment history. So incredibly sad.
