Yes I heard of Beckham and his 5 year $250 million contract.

Yeah he is a soccer player. Moving here right for $250 million to try and boost the soccer industry in the US.

Yeah he's a "football player". Probably heard more about him for his out of sport stuff more. You know married to the Spice Girl, the kidnapping attempts on their kid, potential paternity problems, supposed affairs, that goofy haircut he had(no offense on any of these things mostly heard of him from the entertainment type magazine shows).

yeh was just wondering if people new about him as the TV stations are saying he is going to try and break into the US market with soccer. $250m over 5 years. Mad money.He still has a lot to give and will be a brilliant player in the MLS. I feel a little disappointed by him as he has basically gone for the money when he said he wanted to try and gain a place back in the national side. Hope he can improve football(soccer) in the US as it is a great game but I do not want him to improve his own branding as they think he wants to be similar in that way to Tiger Woods and Jordan. Well thats just my opinion.

I honestly dont think he will boost the sport any here in the US. Maybe but I doubt it.

Yeah, it's going to take allot more than one player to energize the sport in the U.S. They've tried it before. Failed then, it'll fail this time too. But hat's off to him for getting that kinda money.
