hi, i have a PAL dvd that will not play in any of my dvd players. i thought it would play in at least one of my players, but it won't. would it be possible for someone here to transfer it to a region free dvd that i can play. i would give you the original PAL dvd and a blank plus some $ for return postage to do this for me. please let me know. by the way the dvd is a Pink concert dvd in retail case. lmk. thanks stoogedog

Read this first: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/show...ions-1948.html
To make a DVD "region free", you just need to rip it correctly, and burn a new copy.

If your DVD player does not play PAL, then I suggest getting one that does. Conversion is not the ideal solution here. Read more about this, and why, at the top of this page: http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/vid...t-pal-ntsc.htm

A new DVD player -- one capable of PAL -- are as low as $25-30 dollars in general retail stores like Target and Walmart. Pretty much anything made in China (which is most all DVD players now), play both PAL and NTSC.

or simply buy the philips dvd player from the megalo mart & enter the region free code from videohelp.com ---- Yes it works :-)

Yeah, the Philips is a bit more $$ at about $50-60, but it does XVID/Divx, too -- my favorite player for sure. Some of them even play XVID off a USB stick, very nice. I hate burning DVD-RW all the time to watch 1 new show from download.

Go to best buy and get the $40 TOSHIBA they sell the SD4100 connect it all up turn it on and with NO DISC IN THE MACHINE open the tray on the remote press 98790 and a message will appear on the top right of the screen saying region was changed to "0" then it will play anything form anywhere

I now have two of these players and they are great you sometimes have to repeat the 98790 thing but it only seems to need it if you leave a disc playing in teh machine on loop

apart from that I cant reccomend them enough as I trade alot for pal stuff
