Need Help Cropping a Video
I downloaded a tv movie from hulu. It is in 4:3 but has a thin black border all the way around it. A couple of years ago I would have used TMPGenc express for this, but the computer with that software was embedded into a tree. My new system is running Windows 7 and I have Virtual PC with XP mode. What should I use to crop the bars? Is there a version of TMPGenc express that runs in Windows 7? Is there a better program?

i'm not an expert, so take this advice with a pinch of salt. i use ConvertXtoDvd on Win7 x64. it does have the option to crop / remove the black bars. hope this helps.

Thanks, I think that will take care of what I needed.

you'll need to drill down to the resize option, so click all those things i've highlighted in the image, top to bottom, left to right. http://www.tvpast.org/forum/members/...e927-dvdx2.jpg then, choose how you want to resize the video. 4:3 or 16:9. padding and/or cropping etc. if you are making it fullscreen (4:3), it's probably better to uncheck the "show safe area" box so you have a clearer view of the edges. hope that helps. |
