I'M NOT LORDSMURF ,.. BUT I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOOD AND AT GREAT DEALS ON A REGULAR.

VERBATIMS 8X,16X ,... I NORMALY GO ON AMAZON ... THEY LOWER PRICES THERE PERIODICALLY.

Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are two of the best.

Staples puts Sony's on sale often and if they say Made in Japan there is a good possibility they are really Taiyo Yuden brand.

Yes I agree Verbatim is probably the safest and best. I use all sorts TDK, Fuji, Sony

The most reliable "brand" names have been Sony and Verbatim for me.

www.supermediastore.com is probably the best place to buydiscs!
-Taiyo Yuden (-R) or Yuden (+R) discs are the best!

Don't listen to the guys above!

Read the forum sticky.

Offline buying:
Sony brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = YUDEN media
Sony brand DVD+R (made in Taiwan) = SONY media
Sony brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = TY or SONY media
Fuji brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = YUDEN media
Fuji brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = TY media
Verbatim brand DVD-R (made in Taiwan) = MCC media
Verbatim brand DVD+R (made in Taiwan) = MCC media
Maxell brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = MXL media
Maxell brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = MAXELL media
TDK brand DVD-R (made in Taiwain) = TDK media

Online buying, do what Marcus said.

From my experience I would stay away from the 8x prodisc discs. I loved the 4x but noticed a definite quailty decline with the 8x. Taiyo Yuden have served me well since not using the 4x prodisc anymore and would recommend them. Hope this helps.

What about Datawrite discs that a lot of the UK traders are using? I know Bulkpac sucks.
