Fastest way to dub tapes?

I have about 35 Tapes with 40hrs on them. (time lapse) And I need copies.. LoL

Thx

Video tapes have to be copied realtime. Hook up 2 VCRs and wait.

onlyemokid 07-23-2006 09:05 AM

Forget that lmfao... ;)

You can actually fast forward the tapes and record them into a dvd recorder. Just dont forget to insert a flux capacitor between the two!!!LOL[88]

hi, what's on the tapes? depending on what is on the tapes, i might transfer them for you. i have transferred vhs tapes to dvd for several traders in exchange for the tapes. let me know and maybe we can work something out. thanks

onlyemokid 07-23-2006 11:57 PM

They are surveillence tapes..

stoogedog 07-24-2006 12:33 AM

hi, wouldn't be interested in those for the content. what do you have on your trade list? would consider transferring them for you for shows i might be interested in depending of what you have. lmk. thanks

Not to be a rush, but how soon could you have them done.. Because, I would need them quite quickly (Court issues with neighbor) Also, for like 35 tapes with 40hrs of timelapse footage, whut would you be looking for in a trade. Thx

MagnificentMarcus 07-24-2006 02:24 AM

I really don't think they are going to allow 40 hours of surveillence in court. Can't you just record the relevent surveillence. I imagine 90% of the tape is useless to your case, isn't it?

onlyemokid 07-24-2006 03:17 AM

Lawyer said to tape 24/7 (As I had already before any problems) But, we need to have everything for when the neighbor says we done this or that, or we would drive too fast past his home or something.. We can recall the tapes and it doesn't show any of that.

MagnificentMarcus 07-24-2006 04:15 AM

I'd just label your tapes by day and time. If the neighbors says this happened at such and such day and time. Grab the labeled tape to watch. The tapes will be bulkier to handle but I would say easier to manage when the time comes. Otherwise go buy a dual deck VCR/DVD recorder from Walmart then take it back after you've completed the job. Unscrumpulous- yes, but it would resolve your problem.

stoogedog 07-24-2006 04:32 AM

hi, how much video is on each tape? are they a full six hours each? i could get started on them as soon as i got them in the mail. would you also want the tapes back? i assume you would since they would be court case related. do you have a trade list? lmk. thanks

onlyemokid 07-24-2006 07:41 AM

I have each tape labeled.. # 1-36 then the days on them.. Also a sheet of paper listing tape numbers with the dates..

there are 40hrs of timelapse. t-160 tapes... I'd need the tapes back, yes

lordsmurf 07-24-2006 07:46 AM

You would not want to trust US mail or UPS with something like this. I would suggest Fedex if you mail.

If this were me, I'd just catalog the tapes and refer to those when needed. Court cases often take as long as needed (except Supreme court and some appellate courts). And they do have FF and REW buttons, when needed.

onlyemokid 07-24-2006 01:39 PM

I was told that probably the other party and their lawyer would be allowed to review the evidence.. Therefore, I'd want copies because I'm not giving up originals.. LoL

stoogedog 07-24-2006 02:31 PM

hi, so you are talking about 70 discs if there were 4 hours recorded on each disc, right? i have 2 combo decks to use. one is a dvd-r and one is a dvd+r. let me know if still interested in my doing the transferring and let me know what you have for trade. thanks

onlyemokid 07-26-2006 12:22 PM

I'm working on something my self now, I have about 15 tapes left before Friday ;) I'll be well. Thx guys
