How to fix shaky/jittery video?
 
I was just playing a vhs tape that i need to transfer to the computer for a Alvin & The Chipmunks set. but the video is really shaky. It was shaky while playing in the vcr and now seems worse.. how can i fix this problem? here is the file so u can see.

You can't.

Try the tape in a Panasonic AG-1980P S-VHS VCR. That might help some. Drop-frame deinterlace fails to remove enough of the motion. Beyond that it would be to try some anti-shake filters, either in VDub, or a standalone product. It would take a lot of time to experiment with settings, it would be very hard. And even then, it may not work for you.

I have a svhs deck that offers an image stabilizer option (Phillips vr 960). I can alwys give that a try if everything else fails. This has worked in the past for some vids that were shaky
Also there is an anti-shake filter for virtual dub that works well
