Combining DVD's
Does anyone know how to combine DVD's onto 1 DVD from ISO files and DVD files. I downloaded the episodes of Star Trek: Phase II and they have some DVD's made for each episode. I would rather put several episodes on 1 DVD rather than have 1 episode per DVD. I figured out that there is enough space for at least 2 episodes per disc. I want to be able to create 1 DVD that has a menu that links to the existing DVD's that have already been made. Is this possible and, if so, how do I do it?

This is hard to do, and takes a lot of time, and rarely works well.
If you really want less discs, then sacrifice the menus that might be on the disc. Extract the content using the method outlined at digitalFAQ.com to "convert DVD to MPEG" (decompile the disc back to its basic MPEG files). The make nice new menus in your favorite authoring program, and make your new multi-episode DVD. Trying to take the current discs as-is, making a new menu that links to the existing menus, etc, requires that you use the pay version of DVDReMake Pro. |
Thanks for the input. I thought about extracting the content but I like the menus that they already have and I doubt that I would be able to make menus that are just as good. I will look into DVDReMake Pro.

I swear by dvd remake pro. I use it all of the time for a number of operations.
Combing dvds in it is very easy as it also preserves the full menu structure of the dvds you are working with. it goes like this 1. input first dvd (browse to the video_ts.ifo file) 2. input second dvd (same as above) 3. go to the tools tab on top and click it, then click "Merge" and you will see both dvds listed. Hit ok and you are done export your dvd and burn (full disc, NOT modified files). Remake pro creates a new title menu that lets you select disc 1 or 2. Using the top menu button on your remote brings you to this base menu if you are more experienced you can over ride the menu and truly link both dvds as one, etc |
