Facebook style chat now added
Alright, I'm going to add both a "chat room" and the "one on one" (aka "Facebook style") chat systems. I don't yet know which room I like, but I have found a perfect one-on-one chat system. It is now installed.
It's easy to use. :) You can see anybody that you are "friends" with. vBulletin, the software running this forum, has an integrated "social networking" functionality. To add a new friend, click on that person's profile (either their name in a post, or by searching the Members list) and "befriend" them. It's that easy. You can see your friend in the "Who's Online" at the bottom of any TVP forum page. Unlike Facebook, however, changing pages may restart the chat. So keep chat up on one browser tab, and use another browser tab for any continued forum reading/posting you may be doing at the same time. Your browser/computer must allow Javascript. If you're using a "block" plugin, like NoScript in Firefox, then you'll need to allow TVPreservation.com to run scripts. |
I also believe they have figured out as well how to add a code to it to allow you to see anyone logged into the site in general. It can be found on that site I told you about.
Just also wanted to update you on the newer version of the chat bar will include a public Chat room addon... |
I'm not yet convinced this thing works well. It may be scrapped.

The new chat bar is testy as hell -- more fickle than a 13-year-old girl.
I need $50 to buy the upgrade. Anybody care to help? |
Well I know depending on the issue vbteam.info usual has a fix for most of the common issues. I left a couple of messages on there forum to see if the v1.5 is a stable version before I consider buying it.
