You cannot use just any software either. You have to use - a Prassi engine burning software - a non-passive FTP software - a chip designed for your system - a router or a crossover direct CAT5 connection For more advanced info, go here: http://www.xbox-scene.com If somebody gave you regular ISO files on a disc, they screwed up. You must create the XISO and burn that image to disc. The XBOX does not read an ISO natively. |
If you need somebody to mod it for you, let me know. I know a few that can be trusted and a few that I wouldn't let touch my pet rock.

easiest way is to get it flashed. its just a cd you put in the machine for 30 seconds, it changes the command codes so that it will then read any disc put into it, including copies. it can also add divx reading software onto your hardrive, with lots of other cool software. very useful.
check your local paper for a computer fair, that is where most of the people i have met have got theirs chipped/flash. there are also some private pc shops that do it. you can download the flash software, but for a few dollars, i'ld pay to get an expert to do all the work for you. ku7uk |
Thanks for the feedback. I know there are a couple people posting on Craigslist in my area who doing modding. I might just ask one of my PC techs at work if they know how to do it since my boss and my sister also want theirs modded. I work for an IT consulting company and trust my guys completely - two young techy geeks. I know they are into gaming - so as soon as work slows down we'll bring them all in for service.
Being a new owner, I needed to know what I needed to do with it to begin with. Thanks for the advice :-) |
