Alvinnn and the Chipmunks (2015)

So, the Alvinnn and the Chipmunks series started to air and looks like there are WEBRips available for the show. I've seen a couple of episodes so far and it's pretty much like the CGI-version of the 80's original animated series.

I know Lordsmurf was working on an Alvin and the Chipmunks 80's dvd set but if all the episodes are available for this new Alvinnn series, I can provide these 720p webrips to LS to add as a companion set to the 80's one (whenever it is available).

Just wishing that the set is still being worked on....

I'm going to try and author these this weekend. It's been far too long since I did anything hobby related.

The biggest issue I'm having is finding quality artwork for a menu. It's either the wrong shape or the wrong size (too small). I have an idea, but I'm not 100% confident that it will work like I want.

Yes. Use DVDDecrypter, IFO mode, extract those episodes. Please don't use another way. Which two episodes is it? I don't want to waste any more time restoring eps that already exist better.

It's shame that they don't just release a series/season set, seeing as how they obviously have access to the original high-quality sources. It'd save fans a lot of time from having to DIY with whatever we can scrape together.

Do you grasp the concepts of FTP or file sharing now? I can either give you FTP access, or you can use a free Dropbox.

I'll look at it. But I'm pretty sure my quality exceeds what you've gotten from online streaming sources. These are from an old 80s-90s VHS collector. These were actually film-to-VHS copies, and what you'd had last time I saw was actually these sources but MUCH worse (nth gen copies).

Also:
Do you want case artwork made? If so, can you contribute a few dollars for this? I need about $50 to acquire the sources for it. I'd be happy with even $20-25.

This thread was actually started for the 2015 cartoon series, which I'd never heard of. In fact, even when posted, I didn't realize this. Only recently did I learn of that show, while researching materials for this old 60s cartoon.

I actually have experience with DVD Decrypter; have been using it for a while. Extracting them right now. :)

Yours are film to VHS? Knowing that, yours will be a lot better then what I have. Still, hopefully at least a few are useful. I actually have a lot on MEGA.NZ right now (just as good as Dropbox but with 50gb for free instead of Dropbox's limited 2gb), if you wanna check those out. If not, I can mirror them to Dropbox.

The DVDs aren't great quality or anything near it; FTP wasn't really hard at all, I believe I was just too young at the time to be able to do it right. Do you need these episodes as mpegs too? I have them in 2 ISOs, how they originally came.

I can buy like 1 or 2 at the beginning of October; might be able to get 3 or all 4, but at least 2.

Also, episode 92 of the 80's series (Kong) is on VHS, but not DVD.

Let me know when its done. those are all the episodes i sent the raw mpegs from. Hopefully we can get the full series in close to great quality.

That's my only hobby project at the moment. I hope to start authoring some discs soon -- probably DVD+R DL.

Who hear has good artwork for menus and cases? My biggest holdup on the authoring is the menus. I don't have great images. I've finally sorted all my artwork (it was a mess from being moved), and I'm hoping that I have some in there. I may grab a box tonight. I've got about 5 boxes of artwork sources (comics, coloring books, et).

how many different menus are you trying to make?

I usually just make one really nice menu. Only for very special sets do I make more than one. I try to create a nifty or funny firstplay, and may create a motion menu if the opportunity presents itself.

So, honestly, I just need enough source for a nice multi-page menu.

if we're still talking about the 2015 show, I have these raw captured mpeg2 .ts files if anyone is interested

Animation cels! I didn't think of that. Yes, that helps for sure. :)
