Old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced satire are the hallmarks of this eclectic show created by Seth Green and Matt Senreich. Action figures find new life as players in frenetic sketch-comedy vignettes that skewer TV, movies, music and celebrity. It's television especially formulated for the Attention Deficit Disorder generation.

Warner Bros has just announced that Robot Chicken: Volume 1 will be released on March 28. This 2 disc set will include 20 episodes from the show:

1. Disc 1: The Deep End
2. Junk In the Trunk
3. Nightmare Generator
4. The Sack
5. Nutcracker Sweet
6. Gold Dust Gasoline
7. Kiddie Pool
8. Plastic Buffet
9. A Piece of the Action
10. Toyz in the Hood

Disc 2:
11. Vegetable Funfest
12. S&M Project
13. Badunkadunk
14. Toy Meets Girl
15. Midnight Snack
16. Atta Toy
17. Joint Point
18. Operation Rich in Spirit
19. That Hurts Me
20. The Black Cherry

If you haven't seen this show then you're really missing out. It was created by Seth Green (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Family Guy) and Matthew Senreich. Think of the show as sketch comedy with toys. Yes, toys. Watch as many of your favorite childhood toys are placed in hilarious situations.

Seth Green and Matt Senreich have been extremely involved in producing extras for the set. Just look at this list:

* Audio Commentary on all episodes by creators Seth Green and Matt Seinrich.
* Comparison Scenes: FX/Wire to Animation Comparisons & Animatic to Episode Comparisons
* Includes deleted animatics and scenes from 4 episodes.
* Behind the scenes of Robot Chicken with the cast and crew.
* Pee Gag Reel.
* See the Animation Meetings for three episodes.
* Includes alternate audio takes from cast and guest stars.
* Photo gallery

I just got a e-mail from Gord Lacey:

"Most likely on season 2. They have some leeway with that since it was a special that aired between the two seasons. They started working on the set long before we posted the news about it coming.

Gord"

THIS SET IS CENSORED

About 3 minutes is missing from "Vegetable Funfest" - there's a "Teen Titans" sketch which featured Beavis & Butt-head, and apparently MTV/Viacom took issue with this, so the piece was cut from the DVD.

If you want the uncut as-aired version, get allaboutduncan's set.

Oh wow - I didn't know that wasn't on there. That's one of my absolute favorite skits on the entire show.

I guess I'll remake my set to incorporate some of the extras on the retail set and the XMas special.

lordsmurf 04-18-2006 12:06 AM

I would just make another disc, add onto your current set. Put the Christmas special and the retail extras on that.

allaboutduncan 04-18-2006 12:42 AM

I'll probably do that with Season 2. I think it's only 10 episodes this time. With Season 2 (part 2) showing 10 more in the Fall.

nor sure if you read it (entertainment board) but I found some of the music was changed as well:
ep nutcracker sweet. the voltron dance off has different music then what was on the first airdate. I mention first airdate because the ep was on tv last week and features the newer altered music of the dvd version.
