Virtual dub help
What setting do I use so the avi file is not so large.
I never bothered with it till now. I must say it does an amazing job cleaning up video. 3 eps of Mr Merlin looks like crap. The others are very watchable. So I dont know if I ll do the rest. These 3 are just terrible. I converted the mepg to avi- Ran it through 6 filters of Virtual dub . The results were amazing.[:u] I then ran it through tmpeg w/ noise reduction filter converted back to mepg. My question Is there a certain codec to select to make the avi smaller? I did run into one small problem. My first attempt it didnt turn out so hot. I had to select De interlace filter ( blend fields) . Other wise it looked worse. LS send me some virtual dub guides [88] |
Deinterlace is not correct, you made a mistake. You need space to work with Vdub and do a good job. I don't have time to make any guides right now. Open file, run a few filters, save as an uncompressed AVI, re-encode to MPEG-2 with MainConcept.
You can also bypass AVI encode step and directly frameserve (AVISynth) to MainConcept. This is good for when space is limited. |
otay... I ll post before and after pics :) I know it should have been interlaced. It looked like crap when I kept it interlaced for some reason??? The source is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad . Mark is already doing a 101 restortation projects for me. I was trying to fix these at home lol

I think you have those backwards.
Why is AFTER so washed out to nothingness? |
no. not backwards. Just didnt click capture fast enough in powerdvd lol It looks better than that. The before shot is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse lmao! What a pain in the *** :(
|
Don't use PowerDVD, use VirtualDub and "copy output frame to clipboard" and "copy input frame to clipboard" and cut/paste those into Photoshop and save you JPEG images.

I did not know that [:I]. Learn something new everyday [:p] ( Even at my age [:o)][88] )
