Back in April of this year, some crazy Brit was dressed up "like a Smurf" (blue face paint and Smurf-like clothes), and hit a guy with his car, and beat two others unconscious with a baseball bat.

Side thought: Baseball bat? Brits play baseball?

Anyway, the young guy looks like a real ******bag, what they'd probably call a "yob" across the big pond.

I can't believe I had not heard this before now.

A thug dressed as a Smurf has been jailed for three years after running over a man and knocking out two others with a baseball bat.

Luke Batchelor, 20, was wearing a Smurf costume complete with blue facepaint when he knocked out three men during a New Year's Eve drinking session.

Batchelor, who is just 5ft 4ins, led a gang of ten youths aged between 17 and 20 in a drunken fracas, Hove Crown Court heard.

Batchelor and the group cornered Rob Claridge and Simon Hornsby in the car park of the Battle of Trafalgar pub in Portslade, Sussex, on December 31 last year.

Jurors heard how Batchelor ran after Mr Claridge as he tried to escape, battering him across the back and then knocking him out as he lay on the ground.

Mr Hornsby, who had run to his friend's side, was then smashed over the head with the metal baseball bat and was knocked out.

Another man, Keith Kesteven, tried to pull Batchelor back but was shrugged off.

Batchelor fled the scene before returning shortly after.

Dale Sullivan, prosecuting, said: 'A few minutes later a small red car driven by the defendant arrived at the pub.

'Batchelor was wearing a blue Smurf outfit and had blue make-up on. His passenger was also distinctively dressed and was wearing a Superman outfit.

'The defendant deliberately drove at Mr Kesteven, hitting his legs and knocking him up and over the bonnet, rendering him unconscious.'

Batchelor, of Portslade, admitted causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and possessing an offensive weapon.

Ivan Krolick, defending, said Bachelor had been at a New Year's Eve party at his mother's house but had gone out to meet friends for a drink.

He said: 'He was dressed as a blue Smurf. Nobody goes out to battle dressed as a blue Smurf.

'This was not something he intended to do and he got caught up in what was happening.'

Judge Austin Issard-Davies jailed Batchelor for three years and banned him from driving for three years.

He said: 'You with friends, and for no reason which has ever been made clear, set about three men one after the other.

'You were using a baseball bat in two of those cases and in the third you used your car as a weapon.

'You set about those three men with such violence that all three adult males were rendered unconscious.'

A friend of Batchelor's, who did not want to be named, said that he was obsessed with his height.

He said: 'He tried to make a joke of his height by going to a party dressed up as a Smurf, but he's got a real complex about it and if anyone ribs him about his height he goes wild.'
Yes, sort of sad -- I'd hate to be smacked with a baseball bat.
