Everyone remembers playing with a Magic Slate at one point in time in their childhoods. You used to see them everywhere, they just seemed to die out. They were a great passtime. The same with Pressto Magic, those were fun as well.

I had to Google what that was. Yeah, I remember these. You know, I had one all the way past college, but they disintegrated over time. The materials were wax-like and degraded on the ones I had.

I remember how, even when new, they would lose quality after so many re-writes. And some of them were better than others. I remember the cheap ones really sucked. There's a slim chance I still have a Garfield one, I'll have to look in my Garfield box. But I doubt it -- I was in the box a few months back, and don't remember it.

I guess it was just too low-tech. It was a 1970s toys, dead by late 80s.

I thought about recreating one for a cover back, to sort of bring out the nostalgia from the era. It wouldn't be hard to do and it would give you plenty of room for a title synopsis or episode guide, there's even a tutorial somewhere that you can make a page curl up in the corner for effect. Or even find a pic of a viewmaster and a viewmaster reel and insert screengrabs in the reel as if you were watching it through a viewmaster.
