How old were you, when you knew Santa wasn't real?

How old were you- if you remember- when you found out Santa wasn't real.
or the Easter Bunny, the Hannukah Elf, whatever fable/story you were told of.

Just curious.

I had an odd background, ue to my parents being different religions- so I was exposed to both catholic, and Judiasm, until my parents divorced.

But I was told of Santa, and firmly believed in him, until I was 9, and came down while my parents were wrapping gifts.
That didn't make me doubt santa, but the next day, when i saw the same gifts, i saw THEM wrap, from Santa- then I knew.

Too clever for my own good.

lordsmurf 12-12-2007 03:34 PM

I think I was 11, but I chose to ignore it until I was 12-13 (it was more fun).
I have a brother 6 years younger, so I played along all the way into high school.

I was in 6th grade. Kids hounded me horribly. I told them all to F(*K off. (not really, I said something like you are a stupid booger :D) I decided to look Santa up in the Encyclopedia, and it said something like he was a mythical creature, so I presented my evidence to my mom and dad. They told be he wasn't real. My stupid little sister (3rd grade) was hidinig under the table and heard the whole thing. Sucks to be her! Now I'm Santa. LOL But my 5th grader is about ready to find out. I think this will be his last year believing.

cp32 12-13-2007 12:18 AM

Stupid Booger ??? I dont remember stupid booger from the 70's. Must be a 60's thing lol

Tcel93 12-13-2007 12:43 AM

From one 80's kid to another

cp32 12-13-2007 10:48 AM

You are not 25 [88]. You ve been trading since 1985 right;) ? [:p][;^)][(#)][88]

jpklcapp 12-13-2007 11:49 AM

Well my boy is 9 and I am pretty sure this is it for him - we are going to get through this year probably but he has already asked me seriously once about the existence of Santa and I lied :) - this just happened a few days ago - I am pretty sure that he has been hearing it from older kids at school. I can't remember how old I was - I think maybe the same age as he is but, i had 2 younger sisters so I had to play along until I was an adult and moved out - they are 11 and 13 years younger than me.

SavageAmusement 12-13-2007 08:22 PM

Me? I am 31.
So I was 5 when the 80's started- doesn't that make me a 80's kid?

As far as trading, been trading since 1995 loosely as I started in college with a lending library idea.
But didn't go hard core trading, till 1997 -so its been a decade of 4-5 trades a month now.
geez.
wonder what that adds up to.

Tcel93 12-14-2007 02:11 AM

I was goin on the same train of thought Savage :D I'm 32, so I was only 5 when the 80's started too :D (my birthday is in May) CP is just really really really really really old.....
