The Associated Press reports that actress Dody Goodman died on Sunday due to a lengthy battle with illness at the age of 93. Goodman provided the voice of Miss Beatrice Miller in several Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoons.
Goodman was a noted star of stage and screen with roles on Broadway musicals, and the role of Principal McGee's assistant Blanche in the 1978 movie Grease. Her noted TV roles include the role of Martha Shumway on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, and its spin-off Forever Fernwood. She also played Aunt Sophia on Diff'rent Strokes.
