One of the best discs you can get
No reason to kill the thread, it's a good idea to re-affirm things sometimes.

If you are going to order from supermediastore you might as well get the Taiyo Yuden discs. Personally, I'm still somewhat undecided about Verbatim, but Taiyo Yuden -R or +R are some of the best discs out there and still made in Japan.

i have to admit i have never ever had a problem with any of my verbatims.
whether for dvd movies or just plain data/software backup. absolutely no coasters.

works on my pc's dvd burners (nec 2500a & benq 1640) and many friends standalone dvd players.

not sure if weight of usage is an indication of the stability of verbatim. each of us has a different experience with player/burner/media.

I've never had a problem with Verbatim. At least it isn't Memorex

Verbatim must have changed. I used them briefly a few years back and they were horrible.

You have to remember that Verbatim is just a brand name. Actually, Mitsubishi Kagei Media owns Verbatim, and is why you see MCC discs in a Verbatim packages 99% of the time. But "a few years back" before MCC expanded, Verbatim outsourced other discs from CMC. Those may have been your negative experience.

Probably. That also goes back to a time when dvds were still close to $70-100 for a simple ten pack. I have used their dual layered disc on occasion and they seemed to be ok (forgot what the media code was). Till things really change, I still stick with Maxell made in japan (and verified from media code) as well as fuji
