The adaption of Frank Miller's fictionalization of the Battle of Thermopylae, 300, has set an all-time box office for a film that opened in March by recording over $70,000,000 in ticket sales on its opening weekend. The film averaged over $22,000 per theatrical screen and over $55,000 on 62 IMAX screens. The film was directed by Zach Snyder, whose next film is also a comic adaption coming out through Warner Brothers, Watchmen.
