Shoreline Entertainment has optioned the film rights to adult indie comic book The Living Corpse, created by Ken Haeser and Buz Hasson.

Variety says Shoreline CEO Morris Ruskin will produce the project as a live-action feature written and helmed by Justin Ritter.

The Living Corpse -- initially self-published by Haeser and Hasson -- weaves the tale of a zombie who has vague memories of his past life. His mission is to keep the rest of the walking dead in their graves.

The comic book was recently picked up by publisher Zenescope Entertainment.
