I was a huge fan of the original BSG, and Starbuck was my favorite character, but I gave the new incarnation a chance and was instantly hooked. I highly recommend the series.

The recent BSG The Phenomenon special featured Seth Green and Joss Whedon (among others) as fan-boys extolling the wonders of BSG. If you liked the complexities and nuances of Buffy or Firefly, you're likely to get into BSG.
Me, I'm loving the What the Frak with BSG 8-minute recap of the first 3 seasons. Killer. :>

I just started watching BSG and its decent so far...can't wait to get caught up on the series. Also, another series I just started to watch is Dr. Who (2005). Its different but also a great series to watch...so far.
