It should be intersting but I'm not sure I'll be able to get used to hearing the Joker with an Australian accent, lol.

Yuk. Heath as the Joker ? Of all people for the role. The 1# Worst performances goes to ....HEATH LEDGER.

Anyone remember The Order ? A Knights Tale ? Sheese... I can't stand him. He completely spoiled Brothers Grim for me. Well, Sequel gonna suck hard now. It's called Batman Begins. Not " BrokeBack Batman ? " What the hell. Nolan is jumping on the trendy actor band wagon.
You can count on this idiot to spoil the entire film. He's dry. He adds nothing to his characters. Just another actor getting by on his looks. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I wont be buying a ticket for the new batman with this moron in it.

Gimme a bucket. I m gonna be sick.

Wow, I'm a huge Heath Ledger fan. I love the idea of him as that character. Hated Nicholson - actually, just hate Nicholson, but hated him least as the Joker. No one can take the place of Cesar Romero, though ... but I wouldn't have minded the eternally-youthful Mark Hamill ...

I would have went with someone unknown or if you were going to get somebody known get Adrian Brody, his performance in the Village was great for what it was...I mean the Joker walks a fine line between being really keen and smart and insane.

I will give anything a chance but I just cant see Heath Ledger have the insane anger and facial expressions needed. I mean for me the Joker needs to be somebody who could convince me they could commit murder and just not really care....with Brokeback Mountain and the other date-esque movies Heath has done its going to take a lot of convicing.

But I have seen stranger things happen so I will give everything a shot, remember in Batman Begins the main villians were Ra's and Scarecrow but they only appeared briefly so maybe having the Joker do bad things and limited screen time will allow Heath to pull it off. I mean the movie is supposed to be dark and black not over the top.

Romero was a great campy Joker. The true joker. Nicholson captured best. Batman also has a little bit of a personality disorder too Which is why those two are one the most popular Super Hero & villan to date. Joker in my opinion is Batman's evil alter ego.

Both cunning & definitely insane.

Great....so now we get Brokeback Batman. I guess this starts the Dark Knight down the crapper again. As if Joel Schumacher didnt do enough damage to the franchise. This movie will probably SUCK...but in a different kind of way.

There is no way, none at all, Ledger can come close to Nicholson as the Joker.I don't like/dislike Ledger but I can't see him playing the joker worth a crap.

me either, I don't recall anything he's ever done that could help me picture him as the joker.

He was good with Mel Gibson in the Patriot. But the joker? I don't know, I'll give it a try I guess. Almost nobody will top Jack Nicholson. Probably one of the few people who COULD pull it off better than JN, would be Robin Williams. That would have been awesome.
