(December 12, 2007 – Toronto , Canada ) YTV is kicking the new year off with five new series hitting the schedule this January: The new Transformers Animated; the live-action Nickelodeon comedy Just Jordan starring stand-up comic Lil’ JJ; two Canadian original productions Will & Dewitt and Urban Vermin, as well as the Emmy®-nominated Growing Up Creepie.

The fun begins with the never-ending galactic battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons in the new series Transformers Animated. Fans of the original 80s series and new viewers alike will be introduced to never-before-seen characters and a twist on the premise. With a special three-episode sneak peek during the New Year’s programming event A Day of Firsts January 1 at 7 p.m. Transformers Animated debuts in its regular timeslot Saturday, January 5 at 9:30 a.m.

YTV also welcomes the Nickelodeon sitcom Just Jordan to its regular timeslot Monday, January 7 at 6 p.m. With storylines drawn from his own stand-up act and life experiences, comedian Lil’ JJ (Beauty Shop) is Jordan Lewis – a regular kid from Arkansas juggling a new life in L.A., working in his grandpa’s diner and trying to manage a crew of unpredictable friends. This modern day The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air airs Mondays at 6 p.m.

Cookie Jar Entertainment and YTV bring viewers Will & Dewitt, a new Canadian original series about building independence, beginning in its regular timeslot Monday, January 7 at 9 a.m. Will is an everyday kid who wants to do it all. With the help of his best friend and confidence booster Dewitt – the frog – Will is able to jump into new situations effortlessly.

YTV viewers will be the first in the world to see the new Canadian original animated production, Urban Vermin, in its world premiere during YTV’s A Day of Firsts Tuesday, January 1 at 6 p.m. Abe and Ken are two raccoon brothers who will duke it out in alleyways, in sewers, on rooftops or even on electrical towers for the neighbourhood’s prime real estate – garbage. Viewers can get in on the action beginning in its regular timeslot Saturday, January 5 at 7:30 a.m.

Nominated for a Daytime Emmy® in 2007 and recognized at the prestigious Cartoons on the Bay awards, Growing Up Creepie is an irreverent look at adolescence through the eyes of 12-year-old Creepie Creecher who was abandoned as a baby and raised by a loving family of bugs. Creepie knew at an early age her family was different from the others, but she must now deal on a daily basis with the most bizarre and unpredictable species on the planet – teenagers. Launching in YTV’s A Day of Firsts, Growing Up Creepie premieres Tuesday, January 1 at 6:30 p.m. Kids can grow up with Creepie in her regular timeslot beginning Sunday, January 6
at 8 a.m.
