Alvin and the Chipmunks, a CGI/live-action hybrid feature based on the classic cartoon characters, opened in second place at North American box offices over the weekend with a much-higher than expected gross of $45 million, the Associated Press reports. Disney's Enchanted took in $6 million for a cumulative gross of $92.2 million.

Hmm, probably because so many of us baby boomers fondly remember the squeaky-voiced little rodent. I'm planning to see it, and I rarely go to the movies ... :>

I dont know.....trailer looks like a typical pre teeny weeny quickie CGI movie.

I dont want to see alvin as CGI.I ll keep him in my heart as classic animation.

I still have my alvin & The Chipmunks LP's

Just watched this. It was much better than I thought it would be.

Still dont like Alvin , simon & Theodor turned Homie.
Oh well, hollywood and trends ...They go with the flow.

It was cute. I laughed more at this than shrek 3
( Then again, I think all farts are funny lol. Except for SBD - silent But Deadly)

Especially Funky Town.. I havent heard that song since my roller skating days lol
I think I heard that flargin song once an hour in every rink . lol


If you have young ones pre teen. Take them to see this.
