For those of you that actually make your own sets of DVD, some of these sites may come in useful:
DVD conversion/capture help for cartoon collectors: http://www.digitalFAQ.com
You'll probably find most answers at
www.digitalFAQ.com. This site was created by a cartoon collector for the sole purpose of converting VHS and creating a cartoon DVD collection. Lots of concise, understandable information for capturing, converting and editing shows. Has information on converting VCD to DVD. A paid support site is available too. The guides are free.
Blank DVD media guide: http://www.NoMoreCoasters.com
This is actually a quick link to a page found on digitalFAQ.com, and it has in-depth explanations on what makes a disc good or bad, as well as suggestions on what to buy and where to buy it.
More DVD and capture help: http://www.VideoHelp.com
Another great site for video is
www.videohelp.com. It has a lot of information and user reviews for things like DVD players, computer hardware/software and DVD media. There is a large free forum available there too, as well as many free guides. The only downside to this site is that it is massive, and can be an information overload for the newbie. This site has also been known as VCDhelp.com, SVCDhelp.com and DVDRhelp.com.
Download information and video theory: http://www.Doom9.org
If downloading video is your thing, as well as conversion of said video into VCD or DVD, then
www.doom9.org is the place for you. It specializes in the theory and extreme technical aspects of video, including converting downloads and working with things like Divx and Xvid. For general DVD and capture questions, stay with digitalFAQ.com or VideoHelp.com.
