Will our DVD-R and DVD=R etc discs work on these machines?? Or is it too soon to know?? Since our disc are i believe Region 0, or is that only when they are copied??

It's not important. Unlikely that HD-DVD will catch on any more than Laserdisc did. Don't look for replacement formats to emerge until 2010-2015. DVD is here to stay for a while.

Well there's that whole commotion about another format war. So we really won't know. The Sony PS3 being the system with Blu-Ray and Toshiba with the HD-DVD. I think that by 2009 HD Disks will start being one of the last formats for a while.
