Is anyone else having issues with the Pioneer DVR-109 and TYG03 media? Several times now my burner locks up when it goes to sync at the end. I am on the latest firmware (1.58) of the Pioneer drive. Not everytime, but enough that it is pissing me off.

The Pioneer drive has a known flaw with P-CAV 16x burning, but it was addresses in earlier firmwares. It may have been re-introduced in the "latest and greatest" version. It's probably better to burn those discs at 12x anyway, and the time difference won't be more than 45 seconds.

You know, I started doing that a couple days ago, and just had the first lock up of it 45 minutes ago at 12X. Not sure what is going on, but I just burned 4 more since then and they have all worked. It can really be frustrating.

Just got another one, but this one failed 65% through the burn and said incompatible format, I think I may move away from TYG03

Joker, is 2.14 firmware available at the Pioneer site? I didn't see it there the other day.

Only drive I see with a "2.14" is a SCSI Pioneer DVR-S201

I'm sorry. The firmware update was for my duplicator. It had problems with the new discs. It comes from the ACARD website.

The Pioneer in my PC had no problems burning the TYG003 (I have 1.58 firmware)
